China Medical University fee structure
All figures below are the university's own published amounts, in Chinese yuan (RMB / CNY):
Source: the "Undergraduate Programs" page of China Medical University's International Education School (cmu.edu.cn/intleduschool), published 26 November 2025 for the 2026 intake. It gives tuition for the English-taught MBBS as 40,000 RMB per year over six years, accommodation at about 11,000 RMB per year for a single room, an application fee of 800 RMB, a physical examination fee of 700 RMB, a residence permit fee of 800 RMB per year and medical insurance of 800 RMB per year. All amounts are in Chinese yuan (RMB / CNY); the university publishes no rupee figure, so your rupee cost depends on the exchange rate on the day each instalment is paid. The tuition figure excludes food, books, travel, personal expenses and private rent — the university states that once students enter the clinical stage in an affiliated hospital it no longer provides dormitories, so students may need to rent off campus. First-year tuition must be paid in full, and is not refundable, before the JW202 form and admission notice are issued. Confirm the amounts for your own intake year in writing with admissions@cmu.edu.cn before you pay anything.

Clinical training
How clinical training is organised, according to the university:
- Clinical courses and the internship take place in China Medical University's affiliated teaching hospitals.
- The clinical medicine programme includes a national experimental teaching demonstration centre and a national off-campus practice base for undergraduates.
- HSK level 4 or above is required before the internship, so clinical work involves communicating with patients in Chinese.
Recognition & accreditation
The National Medical Commission states that it "does not endorse any list of Foreign Medical Institutions/ Universities for MBBS or equivalent course", so no foreign medical university is "NMC approved". What decides your eligibility to register in India is the course you take. Verify the following directly with the university, in writing:
- China Medical University (中国医科大学) appears on the Ministry of Education's list of universities commissioned to enrol English-taught undergraduate clinical medicine students from abroad, with 100 places in the 2023-2024 notice (教外厅函〔2023〕10号, moe.gov.cn). The Ministry updates this list each year — ask the university for written confirmation that it is on the list for your intake year.
- The same notice states that universities not on the list may not enrol English-taught undergraduate clinical medicine students from abroad and may not issue an English-language degree certificate bearing "MBBS".
- Check the course against the NMC's Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate (FMGL) Regulations, 2021 — at least 54 months of study, a 12-month internship at the same institution, and English as the medium of instruction throughout. Note that CMU requires HSK level 4 before the internship.
- Confirm the university is registered with the body competent to grant a licence to practise medicine in its own country, on the same terms as that country's own graduates.
- Look the university up yourself in the World Directory of Medical Schools (wdoms.org). A listing records that a school exists — it is not an accreditation, a recognition or an endorsement.
