- On the Ministry of Education's English-MBBS list: Beihua University (北华大学) appears on the Ministry of Education's list of universities commissioned to enrol English-taught undergraduate clinical medicine students from abroad, with 40 places in the 2023-2024 notice — the most recent list published on moe.gov.cn.
- Among the lowest published tuition on that list: The university's own fee schedule gives RMB 21,000 a year for years one to five and RMB 10,000 for year six, with accommodation at RMB 5,600 a year — well below the RMB 40,000-50,000 charged by the larger listed universities.

- The university states that its affiliated hospital has a floor area of 54,000 square metres, 1,081 open beds (844 authorised), 43 clinical departments and 8 medical technology departments.

Recognition & accreditation
The National Medical Commission states that it "does not endorse any list of Foreign Medical Institutions/ Universities for MBBS or equivalent course", so no foreign medical university is "NMC approved". What decides your eligibility to register in India is the course you take. Verify the following directly with the university, in writing:
- Beihua University (北华大学) appears on the Ministry of Education's list of universities commissioned to enrol English-taught undergraduate clinical medicine students from abroad, with 40 places in the 2023-2024 notice (教外厅函〔2023〕10号, moe.gov.cn). The Ministry updates this list each year — ask the university for written confirmation that it is on the list for your intake year.
- The same notice states that universities not on the list may not enrol English-taught undergraduate clinical medicine students from abroad and may not issue an English-language degree certificate bearing "MBBS".
- Check the course against the NMC's Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate (FMGL) Regulations, 2021 — at least 54 months of study, a 12-month internship at the same institution, and English as the medium of instruction throughout. Beihua's year one is a Chinese language year and Chinese continues through years two to five, so ask the university in writing how many months of medical instruction are delivered in English.
- Confirm the university is registered with the body competent to grant a licence to practise medicine in its own country, on the same terms as that country's own graduates.
- Look the university up yourself in the World Directory of Medical Schools (wdoms.org). A listing records that a school exists — it is not an accreditation, a recognition or an endorsement.
Student life
What the university offers international students outside class:
- Traditional Chinese culture courses including calligraphy, tai chi, paper cutting, tea ceremony and flower arranging.
- Off-campus cultural experience and social practice activities, including Jilin's ice and snow culture and museum visits.
- Sports and cultural activities organised for international students through the International Education Exchange College.
